6. Burgos to Fromista

The walk across the maseta starts after leaving Burgos. Hornillos del Camino had a population of 70 inhabitants in 2004. Castrojeriz has a resident population of about 1000 people. It is very historic with ruins dating back to Roman times and was the scene of fighting between Moors and Christians. Frómista is a municipality located in the province of Palencia. According to 2009 data, the municipality has a population of about 800 inhabitants.
